Why Online is here

Clancy, not Rockstar

On 17 September 2026, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy told Bloomberg he had spent a lot of time talking with Rockstar about their plans. Quote: you will see a big bump with GTA 6, then an even bigger one next year when they launch multiplayer.

That is the whole sourcing. Rockstar has not announced VI Online. Take-Two said the same week that GTA VI ships as a single-player title in November and that the current GTA Online keeps support. The Online tab is a mid-2027 marker — labelled unofficial on the overlay itself.
